San Diego State provides so many classes that go beyond just learning and extend to hands-on experience. One such class that I have the privilege to be taking is a Literary Editing and Publishing Workshop with Kirsten I.K. Flournoy. For this class, I am a part of a group responsible for creating and self-publishing a chapbook from start to finish, including the development of our own imagined publishing house called Iris Publishing Press. Our chapbook will be published by April 24th and shortly after we are planning a launch party. The date is TBD, likely anytime from mid-April to early May, but stay tuned for the updated event details.
